Play news scroll- Comter Graduates from VEDP AIM Export Development Program. Comter Systems, Inc. is pleased to announce its graduation from the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) Accessing International Markets (AIM) export development program. The year-long AIM program introduces companies across Virginia to new global business opportunities. AIM enables companies to learn the basics of exports and gain international business through quarterly seminars, visits to the target market, and export market counseling. In our year as an AIM program participant, Comter focused on the India and Singapore markets. Utilizing the support of the AIM program, Comter initiated business and established contacts in India and Singapore through site visits, marketing efforts, and networking. Our graduation indicates that we have made significant inroads on our target markets. Comter’s success in the AIM program was facilitated by Elizabeth Morgan-Brown, AIM Program Manager, and Jenee Andreev, our VEDP local Trade Manager. - Comter to redesign and support their information technology infrastructure of ATSC Comter Systems, Inc. has been engaged by Advanced Technology Systems Company (ATSC) in Arlington, VA, to redesign and support their information technology infrastructure to meet their growing size and international scope. ATSC offers services in the areas of system installation and integration, logistics support, security systems, harbor protection systems, and special construction for military, government, and commercial clients. Comter will upgrade ATSC’s enterprise IT infrastructure to enhance security and optimize application performance and stability, supporting the exchange of information between its offices across the U.S. and internationally. By migrating ATSC’s email hosted in-house to a cloud hosting webmail solution, ATSC will gain increased email security and portability while decreasing the time and resources that are spent on email in-house. (Comter) is pleased to announce that we have been awarded an indefinite delivery indefinite quantity contract for Information Technology Consulting Services for the Washington Metro Area Transportation Authority (WMATA) in Task Order Group 4, PeopleSoft Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Application Development and Operations. Senior Systems Administrator
Comter Systems is seeking someone to manage a large network and monitor/tune system performance of a multi-user computing system in the Fairfax , VA area. This candidate will manage network and system performance of a multi-user computing system. Responsibilities will include designing the computing infrastructure, providing technical assistance and consulting to the users, and developing tools for managing the system. Designs and develops server disaster recovery strategies. Troubleshoots high profile system performance issues utilizing root-cause analysis and recommends appropriate action. Develop policies and standards for allocation and use of computer equipment and resources. Ensure data integrity by evaluating, proposing, implementing and managing software and hardware solutions. May recommend and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system.
• Extensive experience administering UNIX systems, in particular AIX Experience with UNIX Logical Volume Management, such as AIX Logical Volume Manager or Veritas Volume Manager
• Knowledge of formalized security evaluation and remediation concepts and strategies, such as implementation of DISA STIG (Security Technical Implementation Guides) HACMP, or other High Availability software suite Tivoli Storage Manager, or other Enterprise Backup and Recovery software SAN technologies, including fabric design, and zoning management.
• Ability to interact with the help desk in completing systems related user requests .
US Citizenship required and must be able to attain a secret security clearance .
Experience
10 years with no degree, 8 years with Bachelor's, 6 years with Master's. Candidates possessing the following experience (in order of desirability) is considered a plus: IBM Enterprise Storage Server, or "Shark" Disaster Recovery strategies Wide-Area Data Replication technologies, such as Mendocino RealTime WebSphere Application Server DB2 MQ.
